VISY's $500 million glass manufacturing facility in Yatala, Queensland is being constructed beside their existing cardboard box manufacturing plant, aiming to produce about 1 billion glass containers per year using recycled glass and powered by renewable energy. 

Rimcorp were engaged by Build Run Repair, a Visy Group company, to provide recruitment and placement services for the project's construction team.

Rimcorp also ran the request for pricing for the supply, manufacture and transport of modular buildings for the administration complex, including the scope of work, tender documents and recommendation.

The MDJH Joint Venture (McConnell Dowell and John Holland) is delivering the main engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for the 250MW/2,000MWh Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project, which involves converting two former gold mine pits into an upper and lower reservoir for pumped hydro energy storage.

 Rimcorp were engaged to provide camp infrastructure, operations and maintenance auditing services to MDJH Joint Venture.

Rimcorp were engaged by Capricorn Copper to carry out an on-site condition review of the mine's non-process infrastructure, focused on the workforce accommodation village.

The review covered the kitchen and dining facilities, laundries, accommodation modules, recreation areas, site administration and grounds, and reported observations and recommended next steps.

Rimcorp were engaged by Minjar Gold to deliver a feasibility study for operations workforce accommodation at the Pajingo Gold Operations.

Several scenarios were considered, including a site-based accommodation facility and options within the Charters Towers township. Services included conceptual designs, identifying suitable facilities in the township, budget estimates for each option and a recommendation report.

Rimcorp engaged local content and statutory research consultants to identify the State and local regulatory requirements for both on-site and off-site options.

Rimcorp were engaged by BBI Group to prepare conceptual non-process infrastructure masterplans for the Balla Balla Infrastructure Project, covering the mine, rail and port sites.

The 2019 work produced masterplans and layouts for an 1,800 resident mine site village, up to four 300 resident rail construction camps and a 600 resident port village, along with the mine and port industrial areas.

In 2020 Rimcorp delivered the layout design and staging plan for the Blacksmith Camp, growing it in stages from 20 to 100 beds, with drainage, services connections and generator sizing.

Rimcorp were engaged by GEMCO to deliver the detailed design and design management for the upgrade of its village at Alyangula on Groote Eylandt.

The design covered a 120 bed accommodation precinct and the central precinct laundry, together with civil, structural, architectural and landscape packages for the accommodation clusters, recreation centre, walkways and shelters, and the bulk laundry and kitchen.

The work included a site visit and the issue of civil, structural, architectural, laundry and kitchen design documents to GEMCO.

Rimcorp were engaged by BMA across several engagements to support its Bowen Basin workforce accommodation villages and associated infrastructure.

Work started with asset condition and statutory compliance reviews at Buffel Park Village and Eureka Creek Village, with strategic advice on asset and facilities maintenance and management. Rimcorp also carried out practical completion and defects liability period inspections at Buffel Park.

Rimcorp then developed scopes, specifications and tender documentation for village infrastructure works, including kitchen upgrades, sewage treatment plant switchgear and SCADA, roads and parking and recreation facilities, and for water pipeline upgrade packages.

Rimcorp have supported Newmont's Tanami Operations on two engagements.

In 2011 Rimcorp took part in the pre-award workshop and wrote the change out plan for the village services contract, covering accommodation, catering, cleaning, grounds, facilities maintenance and airport operations.

In 2018 Rimcorp delivered an accommodation upgrade review for the mine. The desktop study set out options for refurbishing the existing village, a temporary construction camp and new permanent village scenarios, each with a budget estimate and commentary on risks and efficiencies.

Rimcorp were engaged by OZ Minerals to carry out QA/QC inspections and audits of modular accommodation buildings being supplied to the Carrapateena Project.

Inspections were carried out on the buildings in Gladstone, Queensland, with reports back to the project. Rimcorp developed QA/QC check sheets for the accommodation modules, laundries, ice rooms and the kitchen and mess facility, and assisted with procurement documentation for the supply.

Between 2014 and 2017 Rimcorp seconded a Senior Project Manager and Commercial Manager to Planpac Group PNG, working on publicly funded health infrastructure across Papua New Guinea.

Projects included the redevelopment of Mendi General Hospital in the Southern Highlands, the Arawa Health Centre upgrade and Buka General Hospital water supply works in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, and the Daru Family Support Centre in Western Province.

The role covered project and commercial management through design, procurement, contract management and construction supervision. The Arawa Health Centre works reached practical completion in 2017.

Rimcorp were appointed project managers for the re-establishment of the workforce accommodation village at Chillagoe, supporting the restart of the Mungana mine.

Rimcorp helped the project define the design and engineering requirements for the 240 resident village, liaised with Mareeba Shire Council, inspected second hand accommodation buildings and reviewed power generation options.

Rimcorp prepared the tender documentation for the village refurbishment and expansion, managed the tenderers' site visit and evaluated the tenders. The same was done for the catering, janitorial and village management contract.

Rimcorp were engaged by Bechtel to review the accommodation strategy for the Chevron-operated Wheatstone LNG Project. The review was carried out at Bechtel's oil and gas engineering office in Houston, Texas.

It covered the fly camp, pioneer camp, construction village and the village operations and catering scope, tested against Australian building codes, cyclone criteria, lead times and permitting. Rimcorp then worked with the project on an accommodation optimisation plan and ran the technical assessment of tenders for the construction village.

Rimcorp returned in 2014 and 2015 to review the catering capacity of the kitchen, dining and tavern facilities as the construction workforce and village expanded.

Rimcorp were engaged by Barrick's Porgera Joint Venture to review the catering and housekeeping facilities and infrastructure at the Porgera mine, together with a contractor performance review and compliance audit.

Following the review, Rimcorp updated the scopes of work and ran an open tender for the catering and the housekeeping and janitorial services contracts, including on-site assessment of submissions.

Rimcorp were engaged by CB&I to carry out a site study supporting its tender for the construction of a coal fired power plant at Toledo on Cebu Island.

The study assessed whether local housing could take a peak workforce of about 1,500 plus senior supervisors and expatriates, the availability of local labour, construction water supply, and local medical and emergency response services. A study report set out the findings and strategies for each item.

Rimcorp were engaged by OSL to support their operating accommodation assets with catering and facilities management and maintenance audits. 

A team of Rimcorp personnel completed operations wide catering and facilities management contract compliance audits (1800 beds across 10 facilities) and provided contract management mentoring to the client's shared services team.

We completed a modification and update of the catering and facilities management scope of works and renegotiated contract pricing to elevate standards of service in conjunction with the client's shared services team.

Ongoing periodical compliance auditing also included the training of local Indigenous employees in the areas of food handling and other hospitality, performance management and administration skills.

Rimcorp were engaged by Fortescue Metals Group to carry out an independent operational audit of its accommodation villages across the Pilbara during the infrastructure expansion project.

The audit covered 15 villages housing around 9,500 residents at Port Hedland, along the rail corridor and at the Solomon and Chichester hubs. On site inspections reviewed each contracted village operator and the facilities themselves.

Areas assessed included accommodation management and room allocation, catering, tavern and retail, housekeeping, lifestyle services, maintenance and grounds, compliance with the operator's scope and the supporting infrastructure. An audit report with recommendations was issued to Fortescue.

Rimcorp were engaged to deliver the Bankable Feasibility Study for the accommodation facilities and support infrastructure of the proposed Kevin's Corner Coal Project.

The study covered the village operations philosophy and operations scope of work, masterplanning, architectural design, civil, structural and utilities engineering, CAPEX and OPEX estimates, construction schedule and a design and construct tender package. The deliverables were brought together in a BFS report.

The accommodation was planned for a workforce of 1,700 during construction and 1,200 for ongoing operations.

Rimcorp were engaged by the JKC Joint Venture as accommodation subject matter experts for the Ichthys onshore LNG project's 2,700 bed accommodation village at Howard Springs, near Darwin.

As part of the assessment team, Rimcorp carried out the technical evaluation of tenders for the village package, managed clarifications, attended post-tender workshops and supported the recommendation for award. The scope was then extended to design support during detailed design of the village.

Rimcorp also developed the tender documentation and KPI criteria for the village operations and maintenance contract and assisted with the tender process.

Rimcorp were engaged by the KLH Joint Venture to develop the Village Operations Philosophy and an integrated off-site induction, accommodation and R&R travel reservation philosophy for the proposed 5,700 person accommodation village for the Browse LNG onshore development.

The work researched the viable options so the facilities could be designed around the end user's operational needs, including the participation of local Indigenous community groups.

Rimcorp also developed the tender documentation for the operation and management of the accommodation facility as part of KLH's design and tendering process.

Rio Tinto holds a controlling interest in the southern section (Blocks 3 and 4) of the Simandou iron ore project in Guinea, partnering with Chinalco and the Guinean government to develop what is considered one of the world's largest untapped high-grade iron ore deposits. The project, which includes plans for mine development, a 670-kilometre trans-Guinean railway, and port facilities at Matakang, has faced numerous challenges and delays since Rio Tinto first acquired rights in the 1990s.

Rimcorp were engaged by the project to undertake a determination study in relation to Rio Tinto’s permanent workforce accommodation and recreational infrastructure facilities in Guinea, West Africa.

These services were conducted from Rimcorp’s Townsville office, RTIO Simandou office in Paris, France and on-site in Guinea.

Earlier, in 2008, Rimcorp assisted Rio Tinto with the design and procurement of the pioneer camps for early works, working from Townsville and the project office in London.

Rimcorp were engaged by African Minerals Limited to manage the installation of the project's camp at Tonkolili, with a camp construction lead on site.

The role included monitoring the camp contractor's off-site design, fabrication and shipping, and expediting administration. Rimcorp also prepared scopes for the site medical centre and construction office.

Rimcorp ran the catering and village operations tender, developing the tender documentation, prequalifying tenderers and assessing responses.

Rimcorp were engaged to review the design and operational parameters for the Caval Ridge Coal Mine Project's proposed workforce accommodation villages near Moranbah.

The work included an interim accommodation review for the early works workforce. It assessed established accommodation around Moranbah, temporary camp systems and used buildings, and recommended a 180 room early works village with central facilities and utilities.

Rimcorp then ran the tender assessment for the early works accommodation and developed the scope of works and specifications for its operation and management.

Rimcorp were engaged in conjunction with Arup to conduct project studies for workforce accommodation facilities and associated personnel logistics for the proposed BHP Billiton Olympic Dam Expansion.

Rimcorp conducted the definition study as part of the Arup design and engineering team, responsible for the facilities management operation of the proposed accommodation. This included operating cost estimates and execution level tender documentation such as the facility management scope of works for Hiltaba Village.

Rimcorp also had an accommodation specialist located within the project team at BHP Billiton in Adelaide.

Rimcorp were engaged directly by Centamin Egypt to prepare the conceptual design for the Sukari Gold Project's accommodation facilities.

Rimcorp also developed the scope of works package for the operation of the accommodation camp and support infrastructure.

Rimcorp were engaged to manage and coordinate the accommodation, messing and support infrastructure requirements for Sino Gold's Jinfeng gold project.

Services included managing the design and tender process for a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) accommodation facility, and the tender process for the catering, housekeeping, facilities maintenance and accommodation management contracts. The work was undertaken from Townsville and on site in China.

Rimcorp were engaged by Kaltim Prima Coal to translate and consolidate multiple individual facilities management and maintenance contracts into one master facilities management contract for site support services.

All works were undertaken on site at Sangatta.

Rimcorp seconded a consultant to Alcan Gove to support the accommodation and catering services contracts at its Gove operation.

The work covered contractor compliance auditing, contract document development, tender evaluation and award, and performance management. Rimcorp managed the changeover from the long standing catering contractor to the incoming contractor.

Rimcorp worked within the Hatch project team on the accommodation village for the Hail Creek Coal Project.

Rimcorp prepared the scope of work, technical schedules and pricing schedules for the design, supply and construction of the village, then carried out the technical evaluation of tenders and prepared the recommendation to award. The village was sized for a peak construction workforce of 320, converting to about 100 ensuited rooms for operations.

Rimcorp also prepared the village operations scope and assessed the operator tenders.

Rimcorp were engaged by Ivanhoe Mines to assist with operational and contractual issues relating to the catering facilities and the performance of camp and catering operations at Oyu Tolgoi.

Rimcorp undertook quality of service and contract conformance audits, made recommendations for improvement and provided on-site technical assistance to lift the standard of accommodation and catering services.

Rimcorp also provided client representation for a feasibility study into the project's accommodation and messing requirements.

Rimcorp were engaged by Newcrest Mining to assess the existing Telfer village ahead of the Telfer upgrade.

The assessment covered the operational condition of the accommodation, central facilities and sporting and recreation facilities, and the village's capacity to house permanent fly-in fly-out operations staff, shutdown crews and the construction workforce.

The report set out refurbishment recommendations and upgrade cost estimates.

Rimcorp provided client representation and management services to Pasminco Century Mine for the operation of its permanent village.

The role covered contract management and administration of the village contract, performance monitoring and auditing of the village operations contractor, and an on site Client's Representative.

Rimcorp also developed the key performance indicator system for the village operations contract, including measures for local Aboriginal employment.

Rimcorp were engaged by the Kellogg Joint Venture to provide management and design services for the construction workforce accommodation at Rankin Road, Karratha, supporting Woodside's North West Shelf expansion.

Rimcorp prepared the performance design documents, scopes, specifications and tender documentation for the village, managed technical queries and made the recommendation for award.

Rimcorp then provided on site project management for the installation of the village and ran the tender for the facilities management contracts.

Rimcorp were engaged to prepare the tender process plan and review the tender documents for the Diavik Diamond Mine's construction and permanent accommodation.

The works took into account the involvement and participation of the local Indigenous community. Services were provided from the project's office in Yellowknife.
