Lihir Gold Mine Project

The Lihir Gold Project was the foundational project on which Rimcorp as born. 

Rimcorp were engaged to provide of accommodation infrastructure, NPI and catering technical and commercial expertise during feasibility study stages of the project before execution and project management during construction and transition to operations.  

Facilities engineering and design, tender documentation, contract preparation for the design & construct packages for accommodation and other non-process infrastructure for a workforce of approximately 3000 personnel were successfully undertaken by Rimcorp. Rimcorp were Project managers and subject matter experts on behalf of the Principal to establish, operate and control a Landowner catering and camp operations organisation and a separate maintenance organisation for the duration of the construction period that was majority staffed by the locals of Lihir Island. Additional services involved the implementation of a training program in order to enable accommodation, catering and maintenance services to be undertaken by the local landowner group formed under the name NCS and nurtured by the Principal and Rimcorp. This process was also carried through to the first 12 months of operations and NCS continue to thrive and deliver FM services across the South Pacific.
